Our Targeted Therapies Forum was Saturday 7/16/2022. The forum was/is packed full of excellent, understandable, and useful information from our faculty of lung cancer specialists and Terri Conneran Founder of KRAS Kickers, lung cancer survivor, and patient advocate. Terri added a very important dimension to the day (she's one of us, a layperson who has a most personal stake in cancer treatment and patient advocacy).
You can watch it on-demand. NOTE: you need to scroll PAST, "Play Welcome Video" and "Test Your Connection" down to the videos in orange boxes at "Morning Session", "Breakout Sessions", and "Afternoon Session" Here is the Agenda and Faculty Bios |

Hi all -- share your cancer journey here and connect with others. Cancer.gov has a good general description of Cholangiocarcinoma. This rare disease has support information and programs that can be found at cholangiocarcinoma.org. Our Clinical Trials page, https://cancergrace.org/find-clinical-trials, is a helpful place to search for clinical trials for all cancer types.

I've started this thread for a new member I've been messaging with and we wanted to bring the conversation to the forums. Don was very sick for a while and the tumor left lasting physical problems but chemo and radiation cured him. He like everyone with nsclc had a lot of individual issues that make comparison difficult (it's why many oncologists look at each case as an individual type of cancer). But the destruction the tumor caused in his ribs and brachial plexus is likely similar. Your father in law with an abdominal aortic aneurysm may benefit from consulting with a vascular or cardiac specialist to help guide treatment options such as possible chemotherapy after radiation. Chemo with or after radiation adds a few percentage points to the cure rate. Has radiation helped with his arm and shoulder pain and what has his doctors said about systemic (chemo, immuno) options in consideration to AAA? All the best, |

First of all... A Big Thank You to all who participate in clinical trials! You make advances in care possible.
Hello All, I'm very proud to be a part of Grace. In the beginning...of the internet, my doctor told me to stay away from it (which I did not) but today the best doctors will give you pointers on how to access good information and often the best help comes from the experiences of others who are or have been there. The web is the perfect place to concentrate your voices into a force that can generate real change. Please read on and be safe, Janine Patient Perspectives: Clinical Trials Experiences Through StorytellingWe are inviting all cancer patients with experience in clinical trials (no matter how large or small) to join us in this new program giving voice to the clinical trials experience. Through storytelling and sharing their experience, patients can educate others who are considering a clinical trial about this part of the cancer journey. All cancer patients currently enrolled in or with past enrollment in a clinical trial are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Patients selected to participate in this years program will work closely with GRACE to develop new educational content for patients across a range of platforms that will help them to become established contributors in the area of advocacy. Participants will receive training on digitally distributed content and social media, and their work will be highlighted and shared by GRACE, along with its network of established leaders in the oncology community and board members with an array of interestes and connections. Participants will receive a stipend, training in communication and media platforms, and a tech 'package'. Participants will work with GRACE to develop program formats and production and will present a proposal based on their area of experience in a clinical trial program.
For more information, please take a look at and complete our online Program Form and Application, or download the .pdf version available above, which can be emailed as an attachment to dbrock@cancerGRACE.org. If you have questions please contact Denise Brock, Operations Director for GRACE at dbrock@cancerGRACE.org |
