Chemotherapy drugs - 1253199

I have beatin uterine cancer, last chemo treatment was Dec 3, 2012. Now my docs r seeing possibly pulmonary fibrosis in my upper lungs, could the drug taxotere have caused this? They wont give me a direct answer. Thank you for any help.

Hello rvtcst, I hope you're done with cancer. I've not heard of pulmonary fibrosis being a side effect of taxotere, it's a lung cancer drug too.

I'm not a doctor and I'm just going by what has been or in your case hasn't been discussed on Grace. I suppose we or maybe just me may have missed an obvious treatment side effect discussion...said with a bit of sarcasm. Pulmonary fibrosis is most often link with radiation.

So we will let our doctor give us input on this one.

I'd say perhaps possible, but if it happens, it's extremely rare, and not something we'd ever expect to see. This can happen in people who don't have an identifiable risk factor for it, so I don't think there would be any good way to know whether it's from Taxotere, some other factor, or just randomly occurred.
