Dear Grace Family,
We just got some amazing news which I just had to share with you...
Mum has had a complete resolution of her tumor.
The crizotinib treatment has achieved a complete response. Yee Haa! Needless to say, Mum, Dr. Pavlakis , Pfizer and I are absolutely delighted!
Only 2 weeks ago, she was in the Intensive Care Unit with Lemierre's sydrome, treatment related side effect of crizotinib which resulted in throat infection invading jugular then causing a septic clot and today she is feeling wonderful, out of hospital (came out last Thursday) with clean scans (CT/PET, brain MRI, Gallium Bone Scans). The result CT/PET report said "..previously noted liver lesion in segment 4a is no longer seen"
Her Oncologist is writing it up and is presenting it at the Lung Cancer Conference in Sydney in October this year. She will continue to take Crizotinib and her next scan is in 3 months time.
Hope this boosts the positive vibes on Grace!
Regards,
Linda

Thanks everyone!
It will be nice to have a little 3 month 'break' until the next scan...hoping it stays 'NED', eve if only for a little while.
Within hours of getting the result, my Mum has booked tickets from SYD to LAX direct to Disneyland to celebrate.
It is really encouraging to think that this drug has been able to achieve such a great result.
My signature doesn't work (and I cannot update it from my MacBook so here it is...)
Cheers,
Lindy
