As I have said in the past I am a Stage 4 Lung Cancer survivor. I came to the Grace Family Head and Neck for answers because they have been so helpful to me. You didn't let me down here either. But all the info and support didn't prepare us for the complications! Evidently his heart and body weren't up to the full treatment. Monday night just after his Dr. Was in and had promised she'd come back and watch a movie with him he stopped breathing and had a heart attack that stopped the oxygen from his brain and he was put on life support. After many test it was determined he wouldn't be able to breath again on his own there wasn't enough brain activity and his heart and other organs shut down. He was removed from life support at 7:10pm Thursday the 17th. Thank You for your help and support! We are going to miss him so very much. Goodbye my Chris, I Love You so Much. Mom!

Thank You all for your kind words and support! This is going to be one of the hardest days to get thru. I was wondering I'm taking Celexa 10mg a day. What else can I take to keep me from being a basket case. I have taken at other times as much as 20mg but it doesn't help keep me calm? I need to know as soon as possible because I have to be there at 1:00 thank You Lorrie!

Lorrie,
I am so sorry to hear your awful news. All of us here at GRACE wish we had answers for everyone, but too often cancer and its complications are more than current knowledge can remedy. I hope that in days to come you will find peace and comfort.
I don't know if it will help, especially since it may not be possible to get a new prescription on a Sunday, but you can read Dr. Harman's post on anxiety and methods to control it here: http://cancergrace.org/cancer-treatments/2010/01/19/anxiety-in-cancer-n…
We will keep you in our thoughts.
