In 2013, Dr. West wrote that for stage I BAC, he "does a scan every 6 months out to 3 or 4 years post-surgery, then switches to an annual scan."

What does Dr. West recommend for f/u CT scans after year 5 in stage 1 BAC patients with NED? Does Dr. West recommend that the scans be continued annually after year 5? Can low dose CT scans be used in this setting?

I am stage 1 BAC with NED at nearly year 4! I’ve had one recommendation to stop all Lung CT scans after year 5. Perhaps I am missing something but this does not make sense to me since BAC can be such a slow growing tumor and I've recently had an acquaintance that developed a second BAC at year 13 (she was getting yearly CT's)

From the cdc, "Lung Cancer Screening Guidelines and
Recommendations... 2. Long-term lung cancer survivors who have completed 4
years of surveillance without recurrence and who can
tolerate lung cancer treatment following screening to detect

Just read the footnote to the

Just read the footnote to the American Academy Association of Thoracic Surgery recommendations for surveillance and I see that they do recommend low dose CT.
