Hi,
For a long time I have been having something going on with my urinary system, probably a couple of years. In a normal day I will wake at 3am with a full bladder. I have no trouble emptying it and the only real impact is disturbed sleep. I will then need to urinate at least another 2 or 3 times before I try and get out of bed for the day. I drink a few glasses of water, and iced tea during the day maybe up to a couple of litres. I've tried to stop drinking in the early evening to try and cure the nocturia but it feels like I am holding water somewhere as my bladder is not full before bed and I reduced urination in the afternoon and evening. But the cycle is that the bladder again fills during sleep? I've asked my primary and Oncologist and they have not been able to provide an answer. Is this something that you have ever come across with Small Cell. Sorry for have to raise a question that appears minor, but it is having quite an impact and has done for a long time. There is no obvious sign of swelling in legs or anything?
Sincerely
RW

Hi RW,
Hi RW,
Although SCLC and other cancer patients can suffer from fluid retention manifested as swelling, I have not seen or been able to find a direct connection between SCLC and your symptoms. Perhaps a consultation with a urologist would provide some answers and treatment options.

Hi Jim,
Hi Jim,
I will try urology, thank you for the guidance. I was considering that it might be some form of sub clinical siadh, but the frequent morning urination did not fit what I understand of siadh.
Sincerely,
RW
