I have BC metastisis to brain. Greater than 10 piinpoint spots and one 9mm lesion. I have no symptoms, and disease is well controlled elsewhere. I have local-regional at collarbone and axillary. I just finished my 1st of 3 wks of wbr, without steroids, and will then be on xeloda. I just turned 60. My rsadiologist seems very hopeful \' I will be fine\'. I am wondering what is the liklihood of brainmets recurrence.

I can't give stats for that, but WBR is typically very effective for treating brain metastases, especially small ones. Most often, the WBR controls the brain metastases for years, and if the disease outside of the brain becomes the leading issue that sets the overall pace of the disease, then WBR has really been quite effective. I would say that there's good reason to be very hopeful that the WBR will control the brain metastases for years.

Hello and welcome to Grace. I'm so sorry you are going through this horrible ordeal. The link below is to a blog post that discusses brain mets. The examples are about those with lung cancer but the treatments are the same.
The question about your odds of it returning are a very difficult question to answer and many doctors on this site would suggest impossible to answer with any accuracy. Stats look at a large range of outcomes of which you will fit on it at any point. There are enough people to have the best of outcomes (no lingering side effects and no return of brain mets) to be very hopeful you will be in that group.

I hope this is helpful and please don't hesitate to ask for more input.
