Good afternoon!
I am a 43 year old female smoker (26 years), my dad passed away 15 years ago from a glioblastoma brain tumor. My mother has advanced alzheimer's, & is in remisssion from 3x negative breast cancer. I was in an horrible car accident when I was 16, & broke everything from my neck, back, jaw, shoulders elbows, pelvis & my feet. I have had many orthopedic surgeries over the years, my pain tolerance is extremely high. The pain that gradually started up in my right shoulder 2 months ago (I have had 4 shoulder surgeries 2R & 2L) is now radiating down into my forearm & fingers. My right arm has become weak & extremely sore? The tingling sensation/pins & needles is starting to go to the middle of my back up into the base of my neck. I thought maybe it was the start of carpal tunnel? I don't have any breathing/coughing issues, I run 4-5 miles a day. This pain in my shoulder/arm is about to my max pain tolerance. I also have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck for the last 3-4 weeks. I had a recent scare the begining of March 2021, went for my annual woman exam, & they did 2 more 3D mammograms, ultra sound & finally an MRI, to rule out breast cancer (left side), I have to go back for another mammogram in September 2021. I am relunctant/scared to go back to the doctor, with any new health issues. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Thank you

Hi Shannon, I'm so sorry to
Hi Shannon,
I'm so sorry to hear about the extensive problems you've endured. I wish we could help but we are prepared to answer questions about a diagnosed cancer and not to diagnose. Too, your history is much too complicated for an online forum. I would have a primary care doctor or orthopedist help me through the process. I hope you find a way to take care of the pain that doesn't involve a cancer diagnosis. But if it is we are here to help answer any questions you have.
All the best,
Janine
I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
