Laya Dogmetchi is a 1993 graduate of the University of California at Irvine and earned her Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School in 1996. She then attended the University of Washington School of Law, where she earned an LL.M. in “Marine Law and Affairs” in 1997. Laya has been practicing law in Southern California since 1997, and presently is a Principal/Partner at the law firm of Much Shelist, P.C. in Newport Beach, California. Laya practices civil litigation, focusing primarily on business litigation, public entity defense/common carrier defense (including the handling of complex mass tort cases), premises liability defense, products liability defense, personal injury defense, insurance defense (including, property and casualty defense) and employment litigation. In addition to her involvement with GRACE, Laya also provides pro bono legal services to small businesses throughout Southern California, volunteers with youth sports, and enjoys spending time with her family.
