At ASCO 2018, Dr. Melissa Loh presented a study titled: "Chance of Cure in Advanced Cancer: What Do Older Patients Believe and How Are These Beliefs Related to Their Preferences?". This study looked at patients and their beliefs regarding a cure for cancer, specifically in older patients with advanced cancer. Patients who are certain that they could be cured pose unique challenges for physicians and shows a need for clear communication between patients and their physicians regarding the outcome of treatment and quality of life.
Hi,
What is the view on using CT without contrast for detecting small cell? In my initial investigation they used contrast but post treatment they are not using contrast (kidney function not too good).
Everything I read says you need contrast for sclc? Is it that important?
Thank you
Ray
What is the average time to progression after chemo/radiation for Stage 3 NSCLC if the tumor shrank but was still not a candidate for surgical removal ?
I believe our oncologist said 6 months - 1 year.
My husband has gone 3 years so far with no progression, to which we are thrilled, but for my own knowledge, I would like to know how unusual this is.
