Hi.
My daughter Harriet Rowland developed osteosarcoma in her left distal femur diagnosed August 2011. She has written a blog that has been converted into a book by a friend and the book has been very well reviewed. Hat records her story through treatment with humour and positivity and is a good model for teenagers to see a way to deal with their illness without too much negativity and also help friends of those with significant illness. Her book has been reviewed on New Zealand National radio http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/ninetonoon/audio/2586553/c…
It has also been recommended by filmmaker Peter Jackson in his Facebook page

Her blog is at http://myexperienceofwalkingthedog.blogspot.co.nz
The book is available at http://thebookofhat.com
“I have followed Harriet’s blog for a few years now, from Massachusetts, USA. I’m an oncology nurse, and I love to check in with her and her spirit; it reminds me why I do what I do, and it fills me with strength.” Laurl Matey (oncology nurse, US)
Unfortunately there is not a happy ending but as Hat says "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain"
I hope you can read her book and learn how to dance in the rain
With love
John Rowland

I am so sorry for your loss. Your daughter sounds like a strong and well loved individual. I'm sure her book will do well. Take care, Judy

Thank you for sharing -- I hope it provides some good in the world from a very unfortunate situation. You should rightfully be very proud.
