Continuous pain at tumor site. Chemo related? - 1268937

My father started chemo (Carbo/Vinorelbine) two months ago. He has a paravertebral muscle met which caused very little pain at the momen. He has had three cycles. Each cycle consists of 3 weeks: Carbo+Vin, Vin, nothing.
He has experienced very acute pain at tumor site during all infusions, for 3-4 hours approximately.
But apart from this, since the first infusion his pain has become worse. He needs pain meds. Could this continuous (not acute) pain be caused by chemo? We are worried of disease progression.

Thank you very much,
Jane

In general, in this type of situation: If it has been two months, then it seems like the first step is to check if there is enlargement of tumor with a CT scan. If it has enlarged, then an option would be to stop the current chemotherapy and try radiation to help with pain.
