Hi,
I posted with a worry around 10 months ago and I'm still here, so thought it would be good to feedback that not all investigations lead to cancer. But, another question has popped up.
After going round in circles and not getting anywhere I decided to change my doc. He has decided that there may be some form of malabsorption going on. I am still suffering from malaise, fatigue and some thick sputum which lines my throat. The new doc has honed in on my lowish sodium and some other blood tests are showing pretty low vitamin levels in terms of folate, B12 and vitamin D. He recognised that a very small nodule had been picked up on a CT (5mm) and recommended I did follow it up as he said some cancers can cause a number of symptoms including low sodium and malabsorption. I can't find much about this other than a connection with sclc, but I have been suffering with these symptoms for two years so have put them to the back of my mind. But to be honest, the small cell connection still niggles me. Does small cell have the potential to cause malabsorption?
The 5mm nodule was followed up after 5 months with no change, so that was great news.
So in the past 10 months some good news, nothing seems to have rapidly progressed, but also some doubts. Can small cell cause malabsorption, the material I look at doesn't really give much information but does mention it as a symptom, and also could small cell rumble on over the course of a year or two?
I hope you are still doing good on this site.
Robert

Robert,
Robert,
There's no data suggesting a connection between the 2. I hope you feel better soon.

That's good news, I must have
That's good news, I must have been mistaken. Thank you for clarifying.
Robert.
