Lung transplant - 1290901

First of all, hello everyone,
Due to what some doctors just told us, we are currently looking for a double lung transplant because of the deterioration of the condition of left lung after a recent right pneumonectomy for non small cell lung cancer (male patient under 40 years old, non smoker).
Health insurance is not a problem and we are ready to move close to the lung transplant center as long as needed and also ready to apply for a clinical trial if it exists.
So, please can somebody here give me names of praticians or lung transplantation centers in favor of this particular treatment so that our oncologist could refer us.
Thanks
Sandrine

Hi Sandrine,

I'm sorry to hear of your friend's additional difficulties. You can find a searchable listing of lung transplant centers here. Although I ran a few test searches and the results seemed reasonable, I can't vouch for the accuracy of the information, but it should provide a good starting point.

Good luck to your friend and to you.

Unfortunately this person didn't mention that they're in France and their insurance wouldn't cover medical bills in the US. Unless they have some very special health insurance that lets you go anywhere in the world, which I've never heard of but wouldn't mind finding out. Take care, Judy

Hi Judy,

I wasn't aware of that. Although there are several listings on that page for facilities in Europe, unfortunately none of them are in France.
