Dear Dr. West , I have NSCLC stage 4, no distant mets, and exon 20 mutation. Is this the same as T790M mutation ? I plan to enter a clinical trial ASP8273, and it's known to work for people with T790M mutation however there is still no information regarding exon 20.
Thank youà

Hi lili,
Hi lili,
I'm very sorry to know you have this disease. I hope we can be of some help. There is continuing studies about the rare exon 20 mutation though it's still not understood as well as other more common variants of egfr mutations. The link below has 2 videos. I think listening to the second first may inform the first so watch the last one first. (it feels like I'm taking in circles there :) ). The point is there is focus on exon 20 but it's so rare that it may be a while before having a good understanding.

I hope you do well on the trial for a very long time.
