Blood Cancer OncTalk 2022

Video

Blood Cancer OncTalk was a live presentation that brought together top oncologists to discuss emerging concepts and treatment options in blood cancer. The program was chaired by Dr. Aaron Goodman, with the participation of Dr. Mazie Tsang, Hematologist / Oncologist; Dr. Autumn Jeong, Hematologist / Oncologist; Dr. Shaji Kumar, Hematologist / Oncologist; and Dr. Sridevi Rajeeve, Hematologist / Oncologist.

Ischial body

Recently had the 18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18 F-FDG) PET/CT scan done, whole body. I had a few nodes in my saliva glands, but in addition, the other abnormality is Unilateral Ischium Body SUV of 4.6. The report does not state the size, so would that indicated the ‘whole left’ ischial body is affected? The SUV 4.6 is elevated for that small bone.
I have had positive Bence Jones blood and urine proteins and positive protein electrophoresis with no M spike. I have very intractable symptoms of bone pain, lower abdomen pain and exhaustion.

Be Your Own Best Advocate

Hi Grace Readers,  I want to share a newly published post written by one of our board members, Nancy Sladicka.  It covers most of the most important basic tips and tricks needed to become your own advocate in cancer care.

Maybe the most important reason to have this info is because medical oncologists, even those who specialize, can not keep up with fast moving changes in every facet of the care and treatment of their patients.

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
