Don't let the word "small" deceive you. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) casts a long shadow, impacting lives with its aggressive nature and the complexities of its treatment. But while the challenges are real, so is the progress. Breakthroughs in small cell lung cancer treatment offer hope. Immunotherapy plus chemo-radiation improves survival by 22 months. Screening catches it early.

Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma

Just found this site and am looking for some information about lung IMA. I was diagnosed May, 2020 and had left lower lung lobectomy. The tumor was small relatively 1.7cm x 1.0 cm (it had doubled in size following an incidental CT for kidney stone in 2019). No lymphatic, vascular or pleural spread but there was STAS. ,It was a solitary tumor, not the pneumatic type. My thoracic surgeon is following with every 6 month scans. So my next scan coming up in June will be 24 months cancer free, hopefully.

Colon Cancer With Possible Metastasis

I am inquiring on behalf of my sister-in-law who was diagnosed with stage three colon and rectal cancer in July 2020. She is 53 years old and a former smoker. She underwent chemotherapy for six months, followed by six weeks of radiation, and in April 2020 she had surgery to remove the tumor in her sigmoid. At that time, 17 od her lymph nodes were removed and all were clear, so she was restaged to stage two.

2021 COVID PANEL Q1 The Continued Use of Telemedicine in Cancer Treatment

Video
In this video series, presented in March of 2021, GRACE Board Members Dr. H. Jack West, Dr. Jared Weiss and Dr. Ben Levy have continued candid discussions regarding cancer and COVID-19.

In this continued time of social distancing and limiting clinic exposure, the doctors sat down in their respective homes to discuss some of the questions we all hear regarding these unprecedented times, and how they effect primarily cancer patients.

In this video the discussion is surrounding the continued use of telemedicine in cancer treatment.

PleurX catheter causing new pain

I'm writing here for my mom, who is 90 and unable to participate directly. While her lung cancer is in remission, she has CHF and had a PleurX catheter placed a little over two months ago for right-side pleural effusion. At first, it caused significant enough pain that we considered removing it and returning to regular thoracentesis procedures, but the pain largely subsided after about a week. The pain returned a bit under a week ago and has been quite bad. Her cardiologist's presumption is that it slipped one way or another and is now in a troublesome position.
